watch movies and shows with friends, in sync

krida is a streaming app built around watching together. a party keeps everyone's play, pause and seek in sync, waits for whoever is buffering, and has a shared queue and chat. it's on the web today. next it goes cross-platform, with plugins and a way to publish your own stuff.

a quick look, made from real screens

what it does

  1. watch parties that stay in sync

play, pause and seek land for everyone. the party waits for whoever is buffering, with a shared queue, chat, reactions and a soundboard.

  2. picks from your taste

recommendations come from what you watch and rate, and every title shows IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic and Letterboxd scores.

  3. a player that gets out of the way

skip the intro, recap and credits, see what's up next, and switch episodes without leaving the player.

why I built it

I wanted one place for a friend and me to pick something and actually watch it together, without counting down "3, 2, 1, play" over a call.

most of the time goes to the player, so most of the effort did too. next is the bigger version, on par with Nuvio but with party sync built in, apps on every platform, and plugins.

how it works

one clock for the room

the party keeps a single playback state on the server. each player follows it, and nobody resumes until everyone has buffered.

one title, one id

movies and shows from different sources are matched to one id, so history, ratings and the queue agree about what you watched.
